How To Stay Fit While in PA School

Hi everyone! Fitness and keeping my summer body year-round are both very important to me. I started in sports at a very young age, which continued until my senior year in high school, so I have always been very active. This has been a challenge since starting PA school as I am living a more sedentary lifestyle as I am in a classroom 5 days a week for at least 7-8 hours. So, how do I stay in shape?

A Day in the Life of a PA Student: Didactic Year

Hi everyone! Quarter 2 has started off with a bang! Week 3 has come to an end (which is crazy!) and I must say quarter 2 has been very challenging thus far. We just started taking clinical medicine this quarter, and that has been quite an adjustment. Needless to say, I have a lot less time this quarter compared to quarter 1,and this quarter we are taking 21 credit hours. I figured I would post about a typical day since I know a lot of you guys are wondering what a typical day of a PA student day is like.

5:15AM: Alarm goes off! First thing I do is pray, and then I turn over, look at my phone, read any text messages/e-mails I received throughout the night, and stalk my IG and Snap Chat accounts. I lay in bed for approximately 20 minutes before I head to the kitchen and have breakfast.

When should I take the GRE?

Hi everyone! If you are anything like me, you hate standardized tests, and unfortunately, the GRE is a required test that most schools require. So, when should you take it? As cliché as this sounds, take it when you are ready.

Do Not Give Up!

"Stay true to yourself, yet always be open to learn. Work hard, and never give up on your dreams, even when nobody else believes they can come true but you. These are not cliches but real tools you need no matter what you do in life, to stay focused on your path." -- Phillip Sweet

Application Tips!

Hi everyone! CASPA opens in 12 days, and I know everyone is running around trying to make sure that their application is ready for April 27th. I know this feeling oh-so well, and I do not envy you guys! Here are some helpful tips to make sure that your application is competitive.

Why PA?

As a little girl, I admit, I did not want to work in health care. I started playing basketball at the age of 3 until I was a senior in high school. My dream was to play college basketball and become a point guard in the WNBA.

Here's to New Beginnings

Hi everyone! Welcome to my first blog post. My name is Amber and I am currently a first year physician assistant student.
